Gahanna Animal Hospital has a new groomer!! Have you met her yet?! Her name is Abby and she’s super sweet with the humans and their furbabies!
Abby Armentrout completed her apprenticeship at Blendon Kennels in Westerville. She has six years of professional grooming experience and is well trained in grooming most breeds of dogs. When she started with us, Abby didn’t have a lot of prior training grooming cats. Since she has been with us for almost a month now, she has had the convenience of our large feline clientele to expand on her experience. The exposure and practice that she continues to accumulate allows Abby to thrive and advance in her understanding and know-how of grooming cats. We are very pleased with her participation and accomplishments.
One of the great things about having a groomer at a pet hospital is if your pet requires sedation for grooming. Our groomer will always try to groom first without sedation but if Abby feels that your pet is becoming too stressed with the situation, and we have your permission, the least amount of sedation will be used. While under sedation, the pet remains in our treatment room and under the watchful eyes of our doctors and technicians (unlike all other grooming clients that will be groomed in the grooming room).
Grooming is done Monday through Friday, by appointment only. For dogs, a current rabies, distemper, parvo and bordetella are due. Gahanna Animal Hospital requires bordetella vaccines to be done every 6 months. For our feline friends, we require a current rabies vaccine. If your pet needs vaccines updated, this can be done while the pet is here for grooming; a separate appointment is not needed.
Please call our office at 614-471-2201, to schedule your pet’s next grooming appointment.
New clients are always welcome!
