Boarding

Gahanna Animal Hospital offers a full-service, climate-controlled boarding facility with a variety of kennels for your pet’s comfort including cages, standard runs, extra-large runs, indoor-outdoor runs, a small suite, and a large suite. Cats are housed in a separate ward from dogs to reduce stress levels during their stay.

Dogs and cats that board with us are fed Purina EN or Hill’s Science Diet. These diets reduce the risk of gastrointestinal upset during their stay. If your pet is on a prescription diet or if you would like them to stay on their own diet, please bring their food with you when you drop them off. Pets are fed according to their regular feeding schedule to maintain a sense of normalcy. Dogs are walked three times a day for playtime and potty breaks. There is no need to bring any bedding or bowls; we have plenty for everyone. Special treats from home are welcome and can help your pet feel less anxious.

If you have more than one pet boarding with us and would like them to stay together, we can certainly make accommodations. Pets staying together must be booked separately, just in case a situation would arise in which we would need to separate them. Please keep in mind that even pets that have no problems at home can have issues with one another in a new environment.

Perhaps the best part of leaving your pet with us is your peace of mind. We keep a close eye on all of our guests, and we are quick to consult with you and a member of our medical staff if something out of the ordinary is noticed. We encourage you to stop by to take a tour of our boarding facility to see where your pet be will be staying.

Holiday and summer weekend boarding fill very quickly, so please book your reservations in advance.
