Abby Armentrout, our head groomer, completed her apprenticeship at Blendon Kennels in Westerville, Ohio. She has 11 years of professional grooming experience, specializing in both dogs and cats. Abby prides herself on using minimum restraint techniques allowing her to keep your pet’s anxiety low during the groom. For the comfort of your pet, sedated grooms are also offered.
Haily Mayhew is a grooming apprentice at Gahanna Animal Hospital. She has been working at GAH for 5 years and began assisting with grooms 6 months ago. Haily volunteers as a groomer for Columbus Cocker Rescue in her spare time.
Grooming is available Monday through Friday. Please call us today to schedule an appointment! Grooming appointments fill up quickly, so please be prepared to schedule in advance.
Drop-off is between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, and pick-up is after 4:00 pm unless the groomer calls to let you know that your pet has finished early.
Please note: Grooming and boarding now have a separate check-in/out area on the left side of the hospital. To drop off and pick up, please exit your car and walk up to the left side window. A staff member would be happy to help you and your pet. If a staff member is not readily available please ring the doorbell for assistance.
We require that your pet has a physical examination during their stay if they are a new patient or if it has been over a year since their last annual examination and they are due for vaccinations.
Dogs must be current on the following vaccines:
- Rabies (RABK1 or RABK3)
- Distemper/Parvo combination (DAP4, DAPPA, or 3DAPP)
- Bordetella* (BORDO or
*According to recent studies, the Bordetella vaccine does not last a full year, therefore, we require that it has been received within the last 6 months.
Cats must be current on the following vaccines:
- Rabies (RABF1)
- Feline Distemper (FDRC4, FDRCA, or 3FDRC)
