Prescription Policy
We strive to make picking up your pet’s prescriptions as straightforward as possible. Review our policy here.
At Gahanna Animal Hospital, we are deeply committed to providing exceptional care for your cherished pets. Our aim is to simplify the process of managing your pet’s prescription medication by providing three convenient options (listed below).
Kindly note that regardless of the option chosen, we require two business days (Monday-Friday) to approve your request. Orders placed after 2 p.m. on Fridays will be ready for pickup the following Tuesday.
Hospital Pickup
Request and pick up your pet’s medication directly from our hospital. Our dedicated team is here to make the process smooth and hassle-free. If your pet has had an exam at GAH within the past year, you’re welcome to stop by anytime for monthly heartworm or flea/tick preventatives—no advance request needed.

My Vet Store Online

Free Written Prescription
Recognizing the importance of flexibility in prescription management for your furry companions, we are pleased to offer complimentary written prescriptions available for pick up at our hospital. You’re welcome to take the written prescription to the pharmacy of your choice, including online pharmacies!
- To expedite the process, it’s recommended to request a written prescription during your pet’s examination.
- Please note that many online pharmacies only accept original written prescriptions. Upon picking up your written prescription from the hospital, you may need to mail it to your chosen online pharmacy depending on their policy.
- Requests submitted to our hospital by outside pharmacies will not be approved.
